I feel like I should point out why this is wrong, but at the same time it’s just such a stupid argument that it’s hurt my brain and I need to go lie down for a bit.
Nope, I’m disagreeing with the idea that it is morally acceptable for people to engage in behaviour which serves no purpose beyond their own enjoyment and will more than likely render them in need of state resources, because doing so means you are taking money away from people who never had a choice in their circumstances.
I’m not saying you don’t treat someones cancer because they smoked, I’m saying that in the years leading up to them needing treatment, I shouldn’t have to pretend that that I think it’s ok because I don’t want them to feel bad.
